Hard Luck - my brother's truck

This is my brother's F-150... I know I know, not technically a mini truck. He's been working on it for quite a while and was almost done with it. Some people ran a red light last Sunday and he didn't see them until they hit. Insurance has totaled it since the frame is messed up. They are giving him decent money for it but he's not gonna try to fix it because of the frame. He will use the money for a down payment on something new, so at least something good will come of it. Never the less, it is sad to see it go.

Such a shame. what happened to the other party.  

As far as their condition, we saw most of them walking around in the hospital, so I guess they're ok. They were driving a new Chrysler Sebring. It wasn't too banged up from the wreck, but the firemen had to cut the roof off to get them out. It didn't look too good when the tow truck got it, unless they want to make it a convertible. I hope they learned a lesson. They had a little kid, probably a year old, in someones lap in the car. They had a car seat in the car, but didn't have him strapped in. People are so stupid. Thankfully the kid was ok.

what about legal issues? were they cited? or what happened?  

We don't know yet. The cop said the report would be ready Wed but when I called he was off and the report was not done. I would think its pretty obvious. And I know my brother wouldn't have wrecked his truck if someone gave him a million dollars so it wasn't on purpose. The cop was trying to say that if the other car had entered the intersection, it had the right to leave the intersection before my brother took off. Well if the other car ran a red light, which is illegal last time I checked, they shouldn't have a right to anything.

Well it turns out they are blaming my brother for the wreck! How absolutely insane is that? They are saying that the other had already entered the intersection, even though they ran the red light. He should have given them the right of way to leave the intersection. He said he never even saw them. That they came out of nowhere at the last second and flew thru. What a bunch of crap!!!

the way i thought it was is usually if you get hit from the back of the front doors forward, its usually your fault cause you should be aware of your surroundings. if you get hit from the back of the front doors back, than the other persons at fault
