Hello everyone. My son is interested in getting a truck to do up. He has been told that a Mazda B2200 is better than a Chevy S-10. He has been looking online for body kits for the Mazda and can not really find any, but there are a fair amount for the Chevy. Can anyone point us in the direction of body kits for both the B220 and S-10? Also, any input into each would be great. Thanks.

try andysautosport.com there pretty good. also it depends on what you want to do with the truck, either lay it on rockers while driving or not this matters because if you drag it you'll rip up the body kit. what year is the Mazda? If its between 93-2000 then that's pretty much the same body style as the ford ranger in that same year and aas.com has a drifter kit for the 93-97 ranger... looks pretty nice. id get it if i didn't plan on dragging but also consider a roll pan for the rear of the truck. gives it that clean look.

i myself have a 1998 chevy s10 with the 4.3 v6 lowered with a roll pan and i personally love the truck. theyre easy to find replacement parts as well as aftermarket parts and theyre not that expensive. the only thing i dont like about them is you see about 4 of them on every corner. but other than the popularity thing, i like em. i also drove a 2002 mazda b2200 and i liked it also, but it is too close to a ford and im a chevy guy

I have both - a 99 S10 and 86 Mazda. Is the body kit the determining factor for buying an s10 or mazda? Hmmmmmm between the two...I think it depends on the particular truck in question. What shape is THAT particular Mazda in? Or S10? You'll find some are clean, and some are beyond beat up, for both makes. If you find a jewel of a truck, I wouldn't let make (Mazda/Chevy) hold you back.

Thanks for the replys. He does not have a truck in his sights right now. He is in the process of trying to find one. He did have his eyes set on a S-10, but my brother in law told him that the B2200 is a better way to go, and to stay away from the V6 in the S-10. He really would like to put a body kit onto the truck and he is having a hard time trying to find one for Mazdas. This would be his first vehicle and the first time he has ever done anything like this and I don't want him to waste his monney. He spends hours looking for used trucks in our area and drooling over them. It is kind of fun to watch.

well the v6 in the s10 is powerful and they last forever if you maintain them. but on mine once i hit 120xxx miles, i had to start replacing everything on the truck. the front end, my whole fuel system, just about 3,000 worth of stuff. but my motor still runs strong. also the 2.2l 4 cyl is extremely slow. i had a 02 gmc sonoma which is the same as an s10 and it was slow. but i didnt have it over 100xxx miles, so i dont know about those engines. as for mazdas, i dont know about those either. but good luck on whichever way you decide to go

for the sake of fuel economy (sorry to go there), I'd stay away from the v6 S10. Save the gas money and get a 4 banger. It's a mini truck either way...
