 new dash is in the works, fla. heat doesnt mesh well w/ upholstery glue after 5yrs lol

thanks for the compliments, that is originally the factory tailgate, welded shut, i cut the center out, plated it all back up w/ 16gauge for strength, had grant fab make up a custom pan for it so that it would weld to the gate w/o a gap and then i had my buddy help me w/ the web. he owns coastal welding and ironworks, they do all the fancy railing in the big houses, so this was right up his alley. the web is all 1/8" flat plate. the tag box is part of the web, but florida passed this dumb ass law that ur tag has to be at the center of the vehicle, and centered. cannot be angled or its a rediculous fine. so i fabbed up a hardline mounting bracket for it to attach to the existin hardline. gotta love local laws. the cop that pulled me over for it, told me to cut it back out. lol

heres a better pic, where u can see the web goin thru the tag. i wanted it to look like the tag got stuck in the web.

ohhh okay, that makes sense. do they get bent out of shape if the plate's not lit, too?

yea, i havent had time to run another light thru the new mount. i drove it up to the unite show w/ the "pinstriping by mikey" plate lit up only and never got yanked once. lucky i guess

as soon as i can find a transmission for it, im really pushin to get the sfbd, and rollcage done, and then back in the booth for more paint work. its time to finish 'er up

on the east coast it is hard as hell to find these trucks. ive got a lead on one, but need to go pull it outta the truck. i blew it up 3 months ago comin home from the unite show. not bad for 450k miles on the factory trans. it was time

picked up a weber for the truck finally from a friend. thats def good news in my book so now i can get rid of all those damn vaccuum lines
