is it set up like a I beam with a straight axel? Can I cut the springs and get a 2-3 inch drop? I am thinking of buying one and want to lower it and use it as an everyday driver. I don't want to spend $500 to lower it but I also don't want to buy tires every month. Thanks for all the help!!

no, they are a upper and lower control arm setup. most guys do cut the springs, and it works fine. there isn't any aftermarket for these trucks.
there is actually a thread on http://www.toyotaminis.com about lowering. great site for toyota stout, hilux, and pickups! lots of info.
if you do get it don't forget to add it to http://rides.minitruckinweb.com
