Hey all, I am looking to repair alot of dents and wreckage on my nissan hardbody. I am wondering if it is better to buy new pieces and weld them on, or cut out sections and weld them in where there is body damage. The main damage is the rocker panel, the cab behind the rocker panel one door (bottom half), the bottom corner of one side of the bed beside the cab and all along the other side of the bed around the wheel well. Should I buy new bed fenders and put them on, or cut out a section and weld in a new section? For the door is it better to get a new door skin or try to find one from a junker or simply use body filler. The dents are not real deep for the most part I am mostly worried about being able to keep the body lines and curves. Thanks all.

sounds like the work needed may be better suited for a pro unless you wana spend alot of time figuring it out your self, sheet metal damage such as your door and bedsides can more often than not be repaired with the correct tools and limited bondo, the rocker damage sounds like it may be a good canidate for cuting out and replacing... it is hard to point you in the right direction for the repairs with out seeing the issues... Have you considered taking an autobody course at your local junior college? not only would you be able to get taught the correct methods by a pro but most JC's that have programs also will have all the exspnsive tools youll need so you dont have to buy them for one project
