R.I.P. HADES... Hard luck submission.

Well, I just got done shaving my gas door after fixing damage from being hit in the back of my truck... A friend hit me up to come over and help him out, sanding all the paint off his 240SX that had just been hit to save money on the new paint job... I was on my way over to help him out, and a kid pulled out in from of me... He had a stop, I didn't, he didn't see me because of the sun glare... he stopped right in front of me in the middle of the road, I couldn't stop in time.




The front fenders were one off hand made, the radiator hit the engine, but it's all good from the cab back. I'm a *** minitrucker. This isn't over yet. I'm gonna resurrect this and finish it regardless of what my insurance says. It's tube frame stock floor drop time if I can afford it. Otherwise, it'll sit around until I can.

dude that *** sucks i almost *** my tow pig up yesterday, i had a fully loaded down trailor with a old corviar i wasnt paying attention and the people in front of me were stopped and litterly in the nick of time i swerved out of the way didnt roll the trailor or nothing (even though i went in the ditch a little bit) it was some scary *** hope your luck turns around  

dang man, this hurts to see! I'm sure it will come out better in the end! That's how mini truckers do it.  

Inspector for the other guy's insurance comes out tomorrow, hopefully I get to start the resurrection then!  

Progressive came by this morning, Hades is visually an OTL, but the inspector that came by is demanding a market value assessment because of the custom work... fingers crossed. I'll find out on Tuesday.  

Dug into it a bit today, got the hood, fenders, bumper, bumper core, headlights, condenser and all off of it before the rain hit and I had to tarp it. Tomorrow morning hopefully I can get the radiator and fan out, crank it over and see if it'll still run...

Well, got the radiator and fan out this morning, tried to crank it over and got nothing but a click. so I guess it's new engine time.

At this point, I gotta throw this out there... any help/sponsorship etc would be greatly appreciated. I'm broke, unemployed (no DJ gigs lined up at all) and this is my daily driver/only car. With the engine dead it's definitely going to be considered a total loss. If anyone knows a way I can get some help getting a new engine in this thing, I'd be indebted for life.  

Engine turns over by hand with a breaker bar. *Phew*

Nasty grinding noise tho. Thinking water pump - looks like it was pushed back by the fan on impact. Belt is rubbing on timing cover. Hopefully the block isn't cracked.  

News - I've been offered a complete VG30DETT (Twin Turbo 300ZX engine) for $800.

The swap is on.

nope, but the person who owns it isn't selling to anyone else. Still waiting on the other guy's insurance to come thru.
