Whats the best way to go with lowering my 1985 Ford Ranger 2wd with a 2.9 V6 and 5 speed tranny? Where are the best places to pick up the parts? I have lifted many trucks but this will be my first mini.

Best thing to do with that truck is get some blocks out back($20 or so) i would do a 4 in rear and then u can remove the coil springs and cut about 2 coils out and that would drop it 3 in front. That should get you started and is called a static drop. CAUTION this is only a temp setup and it will wear you tires in front out fast!! You can always drop rear and just bag front which is what most guys do when starting out.You can bag it cheap for bout $400 just up and down and tank and brakets you will have to go to gas station or use air compressor at home to fill or you can spend another 100 and get a on board compressor viar is best for price.

DON'T CUT YOUR SPRINGS, that is not the right way to drop your truck.. check airbagit.com, they have the cheapest drop coils if you're on a low budget build.. if you wanna spend money for top quality springs, search around for belltech drop springs
