is it ok to mount viar 450s upside down? any suggestions comments ?

its not recommended but it is an oil-less compressor so it can be mounted sideways but they say never mount them upside down  
.

I have a oil-less compressor on my 95..been runnin it for 3 years upside down and never a problem...
