When will auto companies see the need for minitrucks?

I've been wondering when the Auto companies of the world will release true Minitrucks again? I know Ford still makes the Ranger and a few other companies make what can still be considered "Minitrucks". Some companies have continually made their trucks bigger and bigger. The need for a small 4 cylinder minitruck with out all of the frills is still something that is in demand. I along with many others would love to see some smaller affordable minitrucks back on the market. I think it is time to make our voices heard. Later Josh

agreed. Seems crazy that with today's push for efficiency, trucks are getting bigger and bigger. I think our days of true mini trucks are over, and if something of that size emerges, it'll be more car-like. Sad sad sad. Wonder if Mahindra is still planning on bringing their truck over. If so, it's still going to be too expensive.

my vote naturally goes to Toyota! I'm sure deep down every s-10 owner wants an old Hilux! right, Monica?

I hate to think that the small pick up trucks will be built on a front wheel drive platform too. But i'm sure as everything goes someone and or some company will make those trucks look cool and offer aftermarket parts. I may get some slack from everyone but I always thought the Volkswagon truck looked cool. That truck is front wheel drive and was also offered with a diesel engine. As far as a custom suspension for the VW truck I guess you are limited. However, I have seen uni-bodydropped import cars. Just some food for thought.
