i have the oppertunity to purchase a passport that has been wrecked but the motor is good. i was wondering if anyone knows how hard it would be to install the fuel injected v6 from the passport into my carburated 2.3s place.and if i could keep my 5 speed trans.

Hey bro, provided the donor and the planned vehicle to upgrade are within a couple of years of eachother, the swap shouldn't be too difficult provided you swap the wiring harness from the firewall, as well as the brain.
What u should do is check the interchange and find out what engine and tranny combos came out that year, it may bolt up directly, if you're lucky....  definately not a novice swap.....  I'm in the process of essentially the same swap... pullin the four banger out tha rodeo, and putin a 3.1v6 in its place.....  hardest part is the wiring...... but the end result will be woth it!
Good luck!  What exactly are you workin with?
