...comes out May 5th, so we still have some time.

Looks to be a good issue though, with a cover that changes things up a little bit. I'll let ya know more when I get a hard copy. Right now I just see it online.

Got mine saturday! Love it! Its awesome to see a static drop on the cover, it's been a long time, & I've been reading MT since 1990. My '93 Yota is static dropped. Are they making a come back, or are they just saying that?

I wish they would've shown more of Gary Ellison's Toyota, "Retirement Toy". They didn't show the front, back, or full engine shot. He has a lot of detail, time, & money in that motor.

What do you guys think??

When you said engine shot, it struck me that I had seen this truck in '08 at Danger Zone and remembered it exactly because of the engine compartment:

As far as static dropped trucks makin a comeback, I don't think so.

I don't think comeback is the right word, I think that they might become more accepted as part of the scene verses "when you gonna bag it?". IMHO, super low static minis are so fun to drive 'cuz you can't lift it over obstructions you just grind over them. BTW, I have both static and bagged minis and love them both

I like them bagged or static. any mini is a cool mini, as long as it's low.

I agree. I also think its stupid that some clubs won't even consider you if your vehicle is not bagged or on some sort of adjustable suspension.

and on those days where the adjustable suspension's not working right and you need to BE somewhere...I'd take it being static dropped at that point for sure!!

i think the beauty of garys motor is that it's the lc pro street. i believe its pretty much impossible to make a 22re look good, especially when you have to deal with california's emission standards. way too many vacuum lines needed to pass smog.

Im in Texas. im glad we don't have all that emission crap "yet".  all i need is what ever can make it run...hip,hip,hurray for me..lol

but I agree, it would be a major pain to make all that look good. he did a real good job at it.
