im in the process of moving to gilbert az from Florida. i have a 1988 nissan hardbody bagged and bodied. under the hood i have the napz z24 engine and i have pretty much yanked everything out that i could. all i have is the necessities to make it run and my question is how much headache do i have ahead of me to get it legal out there with all the pollution test?

i have several friends with small block chevys in place of there smaller engines. usually as long as they run well, and have all the smog crap in place, especially the cat, it should pass. i have registered a lot of cars that had been unregistered for years and never needed a safety inspection. they didn't need emission tests either since the were pre-1972. or you could cheat the system, buy a p.o. box out of maricopa county and register the truck to the p.o. box. however if you get pulled over (which will probably happen in a bagged and b/d truck) they make a huge fuss over it.
