i looked in to air suspension and just do not like the laid flat look and close to the ground looks of a air ride. just does not seem aggressive enough for me.i was thinking a 4 inch drop rear and a 2 inch coil for now in front on my 1994 ford ranger. the reason i am doing this is i would rather the flip kit but which i got but the hangers and shackles are plain rusted through on top.did not see this when i bought the flip kit so i should do those first. unless i go 4 link but that would mean air bags and i like to take my to the track once in a wile once i get it done.  any ways should i use pinion shims for the drive shaft angle or not if i go 4 inch was not sure if there will be drive line vibration or not?  when i go to do so any ways thanks for any replies.

you can run a four link with coil shocks like the 50's era truck guys run. and i would use angled drop blocks.

thanks i just had a idea. i may just try that for fun putting on a 4 link with a coil spring suspension instead of air ride. it would be stiffer and give a good ride height. will definitely check pinion angle when done. if i do not like i can always throw in air bags.thanks for the idea. what i am thinking is notching the frame and using c notches and a bridge instead of air bags.  then use coil springs were the air bags fit in the bridge. in between the rear end and bridge.

usually the four link is set up like normal and they use brackets that put the coil on the backside of the axle housing, then run the other end to brackets which you could mount on your bridge.
