I am thinking about buying a hardbody that has the 2.4 with 8 spark plugs in it.  Was just looking for general feedback on this motor.  Should I keep it or switch to the regular 2.4 out of a 240.  Keep in mind I'm not looking for power or anything maybe apx. 200 hp, just want dependable and good gas mileage.  

Is the 8 running?
If so, I wouldnt think about dumping all that money into a fuel saving project .
Un less you eventually wanna squeeze the 240's motor  

Yeah it's running fine but rounding 300k miles on it. Gas mileage is prefered but not necessary since i have an xB for a daily driver.  I could probably buy a cheap 300z turbo motor from a friend.  The motor was running when it was pulled but it's been about a year just sitting there.  

I could be wrong so don't hold me to every word, but let me a do a quick diagnosis here. 300,000 miles, nismo or not, is going to eat it soon enough. You could easily swap it out for a lower mileage 2.4 and shave excess weight to increase gas mileage. Dropping a turbo motor in a truck that was running a non-turbo 2.4 means all new fuel delivery system. New rails, pistons, injectors, etc. Thats an expensive project if you're not going for performance. I would suggest exploring every avenue before doing something like converting it to turbo. Unless of course that's your goal...which it isn't...is it? Lol nvm, just try to make sense of what I said.  

i have a 87 hardbody that just jumped time myself and i wanted to do that SR20 swap is there any info out there to follow for this swap ? im sure its a more dependable motor then the 8 plug z2.4  

dose any on know were to get prefomance parts for a 85 nissan 720 hard body z2.4 with 8 spark plugs?im looking for headers intake maifolds ect.

it is a good motor. if it runs......keep it. it gets good mileage...well mine does and it has 300,000+ on it. but remember, when you have an engine with that many miles on it you have to baby it. and as long as you do....it will run as long as you want it to
