I ordered 3/8" airbags a year or so ago, thinking I wasn't going to run 1/2". Now, I have an EDC, 9 Gal tank, and 1/2" valves. Makes no sense to push all that into a 3/8" bag, does it? So could I just drill out the existing threads, and tap them to 1/2"? I ordered them from WheelsNParts.com. Not sure what brand they are. Dual 3/8" port, 2600 500 PSI max, bronze colored ends. Is it soft enough metal to tap?
Thanks in advance for the helpful replies.

dual port 3/8 . if set up right , those are very fast . As far as rethreading them , i'd say not to . first off , you'll end up with sharp metal shavings in the bags . Second , it will weaken the plate . They are designed and built for a specific size , and when ya modify them , it weakens them . i would just plumb the 2 ports together and use it like one port . I am running single port 1/2" slam bags and lemmie tell ya , with 1/2" lines and valves , it is way too fast without slow downs .
Of course i drag my tag . http://www.myspace.com/firerat6069 http://www.myyearbook.com/tagdragger4life

dude I wouldn't do that, dual 3/8 port is plenty, esp. being dual. You won't be tell a difference, and you're probably already at 3/8 at other parts of your system, so the bag ports being 3/8 is a small small factor. leave it. And valve size (3/8, 1/2, 3/4) who cares...up the pressure and that's where you'll see any difference. And at lower pressures, which most of us run, you won't notice any difference between 3/8 and 1/2. Dude I'm running dual 3/4 lifts into dual 1/2 port bags, but I can't pump high enough pressure on an edc to really utilize that. At low-ish pressure, it acts just like any other truck.

Thanks. I'll leave them at 3/8. What are Yorks max pressure anyways? I've read just about everything there is to know about them, and never ran across pressure. I'll be running 200, I knew they could do that for sure.

max pressure? hahahha I dunno but...for me....umm if it starts to smell hot and/or smoke, it's time to turn it off. It's ok, I have a fire extinguisher on board haha. That's at about 300, it just really slows down and labors a lot. So yeah, it'll be happy at 200. And tuckn22s, I think you have the wrong impression...my truck loses air, so I really don't run it that high all the time cuz when it settles down to 48psi anyway haha, there's no point to drive around with a lot unless i'm playing.

hahaha actually it's still slow for what I think it should be doing at that. I think with no shocks there'd be a HUGE difference.
