I saw the article on cutting the A arms on a ranger I have an 03 ranger and was cosidering cutting the coils when I read this can someone tell me wich would be safer and ride better?

Well what do you know...someone actually read my article haha The reason for doing that A-Arm mod was to prevent you from having alignment issues. If you are still set on cutting coils I wouldnt cut more than 3/4 to 1 ring out

but dosnt it also provide drop cutting the A arm. And how much drop would one coil provide

Yes you do get drop from chopping the lower A-Arms but it will keep the supension geometry in line (if done correctly) but buy cutting the coils you will have camber issues. The Ranger I did for that tech article was about 3-4" lower with the cut coils (not sure how much they cut off the coils though) it had a really crappy ride and that is why it was brought to me for the control arm mod. Like I said before I wouldnt cut more that 1 coil out and that would give you about a 2" drop I am guessing...anything more than that would probably to much to fix the negative camber and still be safe
