My truck is in serious need of being retired (found some major rust and will cost too much to fix) and i was wondering how much work would be involved in swapping my suspension to an S-10 Blazer , sec gen ? I know the front is all bolt on , but what am i gonna need to modify to make work on the rear ? I know they are essentially the same vehicle , just a different body and a shorter frame . And how bad would it be to swap everything to a 4wd sec gen ? Will the control arms bolt on ? I know if the arms will fit , imma have to make bag pockest for the front , and i already know imma have to cut the floor in the rear "cargo" area . Is a feasible idea ?

you could re use your 4-link bars and front cups but that is about all Those frames are pretty diferent in the rear and everything except the 4-link bars and front cups are welded in like the notch and stuff so you wouldnt want to cut it out and re-use it. It would be better to get new stuff

Well , all my 4 link parts are the bolt on ones from FBI , including the lower bar brackets and the upper bar brackets . The uppers are actually welded to a crossmember that bolted in right where the factory one for the rear gas tank was .

you could re-use the diff bracket and lower axle brackets but why not just weld on new tabs and not have to mess with the bolt on crap? Know what I mean? I am not tring to tell you what to do....just asking

Well , i planned on welding all the bolt on brackets into place after i got em where i wanted em and bolted em down tight . They are 1/4 inch thick so i don't really wanna toss em to the side . LOL . Besides that , i figured it would add strength to it all also .

sounds to me like it's time for a sfbd for that bad boy, then just adapt all your parts for use on the new frame.

hmmmm, well there are lots of rust free dimes out here in arizona, it would just cost an arm and a leg to ship.
