i have always had the crazy idea to smooth the bed and the cab together. make it look like it is all one piece, make it so that the only seams are the door jams. maybe not a good idea, but an idea none the less. so what do you guys think about that?

i love seeing unibodied trucks, the old ford factory unibodies are one of my favorite trucks, we're thinking of doing this to the yota. I think you should do it to your jeep.

i want to do it to my next jeep (the one i am currnetly looking to buy), i think that would be one of the last mods to the truck, cuz once you do it, you cant take off the bed.

thats why we haven't done it to the yota yet. We are constantly pulling off the bed and cab, if we do it, it will be done after the truck is driving.

i love unibodies and would say go ahead and do it IF you look into supporting the seam, using rubber mounts on bed, etc. and arent going to be driving it too much. i was plannin on doin it on my mazda but decided not because itll be my daily once i get it fully finished and driving a unibody everyday will pay a toll on that seam and crack.

that is one of the reasons why i am hesitant to do it, it would look good, but you would have to make sure it was done rite.

I'm a noob when it comes to trucks so I'm wondering why would not being able to take the bed off seem scary?

.... in order to fix/upgrade/modify the rear suspension of these trucks, often the bed needs to come off. at least having the ABILITY to take off the bed is important. you at least need to be able to get to your suspension components - tanks, valves, compressors, lines... but some things can only be fixed with the bed off.
