i have caddys. mine only have 3 wires. 1 brake, turn. 2 tail. 3 ground. Im guessing the 4th wire would be the reverse light wire. I hope this helps you.

3-wire tail lights light up the whole tail when you step on the brakes, and the entire light flashes when you turn the blinker on, even if you're braking. 4-wire will light up one portion of the light for brakes, and a separate part for turn signals.
"That would be pretty cool... if it was like a foot lower."
"I'm gonna punch you in the butt!"

On my s-10 I installed factory caddies (the earlier ones that are tall and skinny). Since they are both gm products the wiring colors are the same, I hooked the black to black and brown to brown. For the turn on each side I combined the two turn wires that were attached to the big bulbs and ran them into the one turn wire that the s-10 uses. My caddies don't have reverse lights (they were mounted in the bumper of the cadillac), so I just taped the s-10 wire to prevent grounding. The bottom bulb of the light (small one) is a running light only. The two top bulbs (big ones) are running, turn/brake. There was a wire coming out of the caddy light that seemed to be a sensor or something so I just cut it at the base of the rubber where it goes into the housing. I hope this helps cuz I went out and pulled my lights out and pulled all the tape off to check the color of the wiring.
