Rims don't have to be huge to be great, It really just depends on the truck and what fits the look your going for, and anything with enough time and money can make the mags even without fancy rims, It's about the truck not the rim under it.

yeah! I think you're on to something too! In the end, it just really depends on the truck I think

Awesome topic by the way and It's cool to see how everybody feels about the subject and that what we all have huge opinions on what rims add or take away from your ride.  So It all comes down to you in the end, Do you have to fall in line and do what everyody else does just to be on a magazine cover? Or are you up to the challenge of breaking the mold and truly standing out in a different way, Im shure we all agree that were a little of both mainstream and ourselves, and whatever style you like your ride should reflect it!  Stock or Custom I'll keep my truck.

I like big wheels if they are tucked hard but I would rather lay rocker on 15" than have a set of 20" and my truck sit 8" off the ground when layed out.  Wheels are a big part of how the truck looks but at the same time the wheels should just compliment the truck instead of being the focal point.

we've had quite a few cover trucks this year with 18s... those aren't super big wheels... like most said IT'S ALL ABOUT THE TOTAL PACKAGE!

i like to look at how everyone is judging big wheels now. i remember only a few years ago in the late 90s how 18s were big. now you have to tuck 22s or more to be "truely" rollin deep in a lot of eyes. Its crazy how the standard changes. Also, i dont think you could land a feature on stock wheels, unless there is some innovation there. Ernie mentioned pathfinders, and dont forget the old excalade rims. if you did somethin trick with em, you might be able to work somethin out. But the topic was "big rims" not stock rims. Remember the yellow pup? laid out on white walls? it all depends on the look. im sure if someone built a mini with a bit of a race theme, maybe like jdm whatever, only laid out, he could get away with some 16" bbs style race rims, with bigger rubber. it really is about the look of the truck.

what's the biggest rim a mini has been laid out on? Has to be MINI and has to be LAID OUT.  let's see it!

I think laying out a truck and setting it up for bigass wheels and then choosing NOT to run 'em is quite a statement. Tuckin' massive tire is just as sick as tuckin' massive rim. I know this is just my opinion, but bling rims and shiny paint (look at me! look at me!) do wonders in covering up sketchy fab work.

My opinon on the subject is yes i like big wheels on minis. But not too big. I think the largest rim that should go on a mini is a 24". Anything bigger than that would look stupid. No i dont think big wheels get one truck featured over another. I think that the whole overall look and flow of the truck gets one featured not the wheel size. I think those cars ridin around lifted up like 4x4 trucks on 28s & 30s looks very ugly. The biggest rim that looks good on a car is a 22. Thats just what i think.
