Is there anyone in or near the I.E. that could stop by to give me some advice or help on my project? Everytime I do one thing, I run into new problems. I have a 91' (S-10 obviously)

welcome to mini truckin.   If it was easy everyone would do it,  just get a welder and sawzaw and go to town. it will all work out.

CHOP IT UP

problems include:
3" bodydropped = smashed distributer cap, drag on the steering, upper control arm hits clutch master cylinder, and obviously alot of cutting and welding to do by myself. With no one to talk trash, drink, and just all around have a blast!

slowly, kinda got burnt out on all the welding. I never realized how much work went into a bodydrop. now i know why not everybody does them. Should have rolled to ludikris before tring to perform such a massive body mod. oh well, guess i'll shoot for RESO..............Can't leave out....I still need HELP...

but it's still amazing how many bodydropped trucks are out there, considering how much work it is. Definitely shoot for reso! Are you stuck on the bodydrop?

kinda, just shaved the back wall, slowly working on filler plates for fire wall. gotta find out what to do with clutch master cylinder(hits upper control arm). Still need to drop the front mounts for the radiator. and so on, and so on, and so on.

i wish i was closer to IE, i would love to help you out. take pictures of what you are having problems with, people online are usually willing to explain how to do something. also look at peoples profiles on streetsourcemag.com and search the forums. theres tons and tons of great info on that site, but theres a lot of d1ckheads on that site. it sounds like your either gonna have to notch the control arm or get a new booster..... or maybe use a tilt steering collum. i would probably have to see it in person to tell you for sure.

thankx for the thought. its hard to get a picture of the trouble that i run in to, because i can see the the fix right away, so i try it, and if it doesn't work i can usually see where i went wrong. See, if someone else was here they could help me work through the problem, they could also keep me motivated to keep working. Here in the I.E. it has been between 95 and 105 degrees, and im am working in the back yard(not a garage). well i guess im done b*$ching and complaining. im going to try to get back to work.

i know how you feel man, ive had to build everything in my driveway with only a welder, grinder and sawsall. its hard to stay motivated when you dont have anyone to help you out. what keeps me going is talking to other enthuisists online and reading minitruckin mags.

the only problem with trying to look at the ones in the mags, is that their either completely done so you can't see how they did anything, or in the "under construction" area, they don't have enough pictures. all they show is the link kit and a side shot of the truck. The tech articles would help if they showed better pics, and the article was done along time ago, to where i can't find that issue anymore. i tried getting motivated by going to the ludikris show, but that didn't work either. too many people either not near their truck, or they were asleep or eating in it with the a/c on and the windows up. to me thats not a show. Thats a camp out.
