Hi,
I've become interested in Minitruckin' but I don't know where to start. I don't even own a truck yet. Anyway what would be a good truck to start with? I was thinking of getting a Toyota Tacoma but the Ford F-150 looks pretty nice. Anybody have any suggestions or advice?

A Mini truck like a Tacoma Nissan Frontier Ford Ranger Chevy S-10 Chevy Colorado would be a good start .A F-150 is a full size , not a mini . I have a 1993 S-10 i bagged myself , and it is the first vehicle i ever bagged . The S-10's have a lot of bolt ons available if you want to do it yourself . Just make sure you get someone proficient with welding to do your notch for you , unless your welding skills are at a professional level . I did mine myself and loved every minute of it , but be sure to take your time and do it right the first time . Trust me on that . And unless you don't mind voiding the warranty , get something a little older and cheaper , but look it over really well , especially the frame . You don't want a frame that is really rusted . Mine is bad in a couple of spots , but i have owned the truck for 3 years , so i don't mind changing the frame soon , i was going to have to do it anyways when i do my engine swap .
Of course i drag my tag . http://www.myspace.com/firerat6069 http://www.myyearbook.com/tagdragger4life

So the Mazda b series? How reliable are those? I'm only asking because I'll need this thing as both a daily driver and to show off.

mazda's and nissans are ok as far as reliability goes the engines computer and motor systems is more difficult on some nissans like the mid 90's hardbody and ive heard of other troubles with mazdas... like monica said early 90's yotas or just toyotas period are great not to much to worry about and theyre super reliable

Hey now , lol , Chevys can be reliable too . It is just a matter of taking your time and doing things right and asking a lot of questions . I haven't really had any major problems out of my dime yet , just stuff that i did wrong . LOL

If you dont get a pre-taco yota ,I wont be your friend..........
Naw just kidding!Get what you feel like. There are rules you should follow though.
1.Get a sound running vehicle!(very important overall)IMO stocks better than a truck with a cheap intake and crap!
2.Price the parts made "If "that truck even has some.If you cant fab em up.
3.Constantly plan for when your gonna put the truck down for mods.(usally winter for use in Cali.) If its a daily!... 4.You dont choose the car!The car chooses you! hahahahahahah.....sorry.Cant wait for Transformers.
Sometimes being called the lowest form of Customs aint all that bad!!

depends on what you're most into - interior, exterior, suspension, etc. There are tons of options! Some bolt-on accessories could be a safe place to start.
