Whats up folks? My first post just thought I would check out this site and lurk around and get some tips. First off I have a 2004 Tacoma last of the mini trucks from Toyota just a plane jane 2.4l with 18thousand miles. Bought it new. I am not new to mini trucks as back in 1977 I had a brand new Datsun 620 that I fixed up with a Holley 5200 carb, headers etc. So far my Taco has only got a new sound system but pretty soon I plan on some rims and maybe a cold air system. I am kinda old so I dont think I will be doing any real radical mods anytime soon I just want a good ole reliable truck that will go 200k miles and more. I am a aircraft mechanic by trade and have been for 35 years. I just want to look and see what is avaiable for the 2.4l engine to get a few more horses but keep reliability for a daily driver.

hi! thanks for sayin' hello, thanks for coming here!!
"2004 Tacoma last of the mini trucks from Toyota" nice!!! new enough to be reliable, but still mini-ish compared to the new stuff!
that Datsun 620 sounds tight! How long did you have it?

Yea It was a cool truck I had it until 1984 and then got a Nissan king cab till 1989 when I went full size Chevy 3/4 ton. I had to get rid of it because all the emmision stuff was not on it anymore I had 200 thousand hard miles on this little 620 and many many fun times with it. It was tight a fire engine red with a black interior and at some point a camper shell. The L20b engine was a Datsun winner for sure.

i know its late but Weclcome jetman . A Taco eh".Great truck to work with. Do you think supercharged is reliable?Expensive im sure ,but i get stumped too when I used to try to upgrade and keep a daily.A cam ?but thats some work.Just let it breath -Intake/headers/exhaust.So does daily mean no bags?

No bags no slams I am kind of a prerunner look guy. I use truck to haul stuff and if I need to jump a curb I want my exaust system to stay in one piece. A cold air intake and some headers sound good for now. What I really want is some old school centerline wheels with maybe some LT tires for highway and dirt use. Upgrade on the lights maybe.A locker of some kind for the rear end, a reciever hitch in case I need to tow jet skis or something. Inside a tach is needed maybe a custom shift knob, some bucket seats would rock.
