What are the biggest wheels & tires you can fit on an S-10? With cutting/no cutting? Tubs, no tubs?

i would like minimum of 20's all around. 20/22 would be fun. For the truck to lay out, cutting isn't an option... tubs are always an option, but really please tub it, nobody likes naked tires... right now a goal is to get the front to lay out on stocks (205/75/15) because then I'll be ready for rims. The more you cut, the more you relocate, and the more creative you get, the bigger you can go. 22's seem more and more common for minis - I haven't seen too too many on 24's.

i wouldnt go any higher that 19's the bigger the rim the less chance you have to lay it out or drag it, if you go from 18's to 20's thats 2 inces your loosing on lowering it thats just my opinion

OK, so get this, I'm at work and theres this dude who thinks he knows everything about all things automotive right. Well we get into a discussion about my Box S-15 and I'm tellin him about how it's bagged and stockfloored and all, and I get to my rim selection, I'm sittin on stockers at the moment but I'm saving the money to get some new shoes and I'm thinkin bout goin with 20's. Well he pops off and tells me I should get 22's and I'm like ain't no way they gonna fit without doing something rediculous like cutting a hole in the top of the hood which the tire will stick out of. And he tells me there are 2 S-10's with 22's on all 4 corners at the local auto body school. and I go over to the school and ask everyone about them, and no one has ever heard of or seen these trucks. Then I go back and tell this dude and he still swears there are 2 dimes on dueces in town that are bagged and body dropped. Someone please help me end this arguement. Have you ever heard of a box style S-10 or S-15 layed out on 22's without a hole in the top of the hood?

hey bro, if you use a 235/30/22 on a 22x8.5 inch wheel, you will still have a lot of relocating to do.the good news is, is that a 225/35/20 will work fine without having to cut or move alot, just minimal trimming..make sure you get a wheel with a +18 to +30 offset,it is better to use a five lug spacer than to have the headache of trying to cut some of the backspacing off of your wheels or rolling your fenders out to make them fit.alot of the new 20 inch chrome stuff is going to be 9 inches wide.unfortunatly the 8.5 should be max width for the small amount of work you want to do to get them to fit.if you find out anything else, post it bro..rock on,,,,gary

I have a 93 dime i plan on shoeing with 20x8.5's all the way around with 255/35/20 tires according to my measurements i will lay out and be good to go elsewhere (minus the inner fenders) but i am planning for that.
Of course i drag my tag . http://www.myspace.com/firerat6069 http://www.myyearbook.com/tagdragger4life

its possible if u look through mini truckin there is a real popular blzer ur body style with 22s. suicide doors even offers control arms that will lay ur truck out on 22s. the key is more rim less tire and u can still lay frame and drag body. and i dnt think itll be possable to lay out a mini on 24s , atleast not bodydropped maybe one of the new midsize? but i remember back in the day u were a pimp if u had 18s lol im sure somebody will try

You talking bout DIBS hard body? That thing kicks ass.You prob have to mod upper arm.Ya know put the 22's on lay it out ?? Needs a couple mor inches right! cut a slit on the underside of the arm on both sides before the ball joint, then push down hard till she lays flat!! the arms will V a lil and patch it back in.Its a old methond we did on a couple guys truck a while back.It does create mad camber when laid out but it tucks
Sometimes being called the lowest form of Customs aint all that bad!!

haha nice. shounds like u'v bagged a stock control arm chevy with a big set a wheels before lol. gotta love those moments! moving the top control arm up and out can usually help fix camber o also gotta flip that ball jiont if u runin biggins lol. and sratch that whole thing i said earlier. theres a 92 4runner in mt that looks like its laying pinch on 22s up ffront and 24s in back! f****n nuts! so he proved me half wrong! lol

I am actually doing 24"s right now on a juiced s-10 98 extended cab, We needed to swap to a fleetside bed instead of the stock flareside, Made custom upper and lower control arms, full custom back half from driver seat back, Firewall tubs for days, relocated the heater fan to under dash, put the ac condensor under the bed, Using a geo metro brake booster,etc.... Started this truck 2 weeks ago from barely laying frame on a 17 to half done, I cant body drop it but the tires touch the under side of the hood laying frame. Its been a ton of work and thats everyday from 5:30 after work to around 10-12 at night and both weekends so far! Hope to get it done for mid-late june! So it can be done just way more work then i advise! I will never do this again but it will be nasty! All the work is being done by my friend that owns the truck and me! So theres a will theres a way!
