I'm lookin for some really easy and cheap ways to customize my s-10. It's red, extended cab, long bed, 2.2ltr, 3-d euro tails, tinted windows and a sticker in my back window that says "women firefighters rule". I'm going to remove the emblems from the doors and tailgate, shave the door handles and tailgate handle. I'm also gonna lower it a little, probably just gonna level it out though. Anyways, any other ideas, let me know. Thanks, laterz!!

Here is my 1994 chevy s10, take a look at it, might get some ideas, about the cheap way to customize a truck, dont think there is one, havent did a whole lot to this truck but the money adds up, and once you start adding new toys and different parts its hard to stop

Hey Rob I made your link a picture... Agree that customizing cheaply can be problematic... also keep in mind that in going the cheap route, you could encounter more failures and headaches, and end up investing $$ to fix and upgrade, so be careful about going too cheap to begin with.

Don't forget about the little things. Monica mentioned a billet grille, but don't forget to get yourself a shorty billet antenna too.
You can switch out your bow-tie for a nice chrome or billet piece. Also, don't forget about lighting. I noticed that you switched out your tail lenses (I can't see the original post while replying) but what about your front turn signals. Some nice clear corner lenses would look *HOT* on a red S10.

Ok, Am I the only one to notice the absence of one of the most basic modifications a truck owner can do to thier ride? HELLO!!! ROLL PAN!!! $100 for a nicer lookin rear end? I mean, who could say no to that? Everyone, male or female can appreciate having a better lookin rear end for everyone to admire, am I right? All kidding aside, a roll pan is a basic necessity for any minitruck or fullsize truck alike. How about a smooth wiper cowl? I think I saw an ad for one that'll fit a late model dime somewhere... another $100 item would be a set of aftermarket mirrors... most of which are considerably much better looking than those gaudy things that come on'em from the factory... if you have one of the base models with the black bumper grill you could get all those painted to match as well.... you could even just have them mask of a flame or scallop design on your fenders and hood and spray the whole front end a different color, Eliminating the hideous plastic and giving it a major boost at the same time... 2 birds with one stone...

hello roll pan! hahaha yeah fo sho, if that's the look you want..."a roll pan is a basic necessity for any minitruck or fullsize truck alike" shoot I didn't get that memo but that's a different story...haha...
I'm thinkin' just painting accessories (or replacing them with billet) makes a huge difference, and won't effect ride quality or cause problems. Color match everything and that makes a huge difference.

Yeah, a roll pan is cool, but it is not at all a cheap accessory. Sure, you can get one for under $100 if you look around a bit, but that doesn't include prep, paint, and installation.
Some super-easy bolt-on parts are what you want if you want inexpensive accessories. A new chrome bow-tie, an antenna, licence plate frames, even a new billet grille.
Now, you can get side mirrors for under $100, but they have to be painted, which costs money. Flip through some mags (Minitruckin?) and see what you like. Then look at the advertisements and try to find those things. Call up a few places and get some prices. Do your research and you'll find what you need...

My apologies, I shoulda figured in the cost of getting stuff painted and installed. I am one of the lucky ones, I got a pair of friends I grew up with and one works at a body shop and happens to be a great painter (his body work capabilities ain't too shappy either)and his brother is a wizard with drivetrains and chassis work. Him, his brother, thier father, and uncle are all into customs. Only bad thing about them is that these days they're all about horsepower (muscle cars and rice rockets lol) although back in High school the older one had a slammed and shaved box S-10 and the other one had a boomed and slammed S-10 Blazer.

I own a shop in eastern Ky. I do awsome sound systems and they are more than likely cheaper than you can get at a local shop unless you have an insider. I also do consulting/design and accessory installations so if you need any thing give me a shout. my web site is www.geocities.com/east_ky_customs be sure to look at the SPECIALS section

In workin' on the truck, we got a little switch happy and aired down on some wires that were part of my system (that was apart), and so since then, I've been rockin' only a headunit.

I know this ain't too cheap of a mod, but it is easy, early this year I was tryna get ahold of a set of black faced 20's and found some on E-Bay, I made a bid of $475 and got beat by one bid at the last second, so the dubs went for $485, not bad in my opinion and that was with tires mind you. I've seen several sets of black faced 20's like that on E-Bay and they all go for around $500. In my opinion red vehicles look better with black rims than shiny thangs, so you might go that route, ya dig? I was gonna go that route but opted for old school smoothies with gangsta whitewalls instead... which actually cost me more than the 20's woulda...

yeah, rims can be relatively cheap and easy, and make a huge diff on the ride... don't forget shipping and the NEXT sets of tires and any other probs that come from puttin' big rims on the ride (if you're lowered...) AND insure 'em cuz peeps see bling bling rims and it attracts more attention...
rims have been on my list for YEARS....
